  1. We provide a hosted migration path
for the old HAHT Order Management (OM) customers*.

  2. We provide a hosted B2B Sellside Web Order
Management solution for Suppliers running SAP.

The first answer is instantly
understood by only about 300-400 people on the face of the earth.
That’s terrible for the ego but hopefully great for business as we
introduce ourselves to the market in 2008.

We’d prefer to focus our resources on
making customers who “get it” successful, than to squander our
energies by trying to find and proselytize mildly interested prospects.  (There will be plenty of time for that in 2009-2011
:-)).

Those are the people in our target
market.  They are either the employees of the 50+/- companies that
purchased the HAHT products since 2000, or the ex-GXS/HAHT employees
and partners involved in the selling and installing of those
products.

But what about the thousands of other
business contacts that we’ll be talking to in the next couple of
years?  What do we tell them that b2b2dot0 does for a living?  The
second answer is for them.  The key  words to elaborate for them are:

  • hosted – we’re a Software
    as a Service (SaaS) company.

  • B2B Sellside – Our customers use our service to facilitate the sales of their products. Our customer’s
customers are professional buyers.  While we’re trying to offer them
the ease of use they’ve come to expect from sites like Amazon.com,
they’re more interested in “purchasing efficiency” than the
    consumer oriented “shopping experience”.

  • Web Order Management
our service is accessed via a browser, and it’s all about how our customer’s customers order, track and account for products purchased.

Suppliers and “running SAP” are
self explanatory.

So that’s what we do.  This isn’t our
vision, mission, strategy, or even the value that we provide our
customers.  It’s just what we do.  More on that later 🙂

* Our market research suggests that
every HAHT OM customer will have to migrate off of their existing
platform within the next 3 years.  Several have already defected, and
everyone we speak with is formulating their decommissioning strategy.
These folks desire a replacement solution and will act within the next 12-24 months.
